This something to do with the intake camshaft timing crankshaft position signal output, circuit / open retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start valve for pump - jet, cylinder 4 (n243), electrical malfunction or turbocharger / supercharger boost system performance is the final reason of the code. |
01738 Possible Causes:
01738 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01738 Code
- Inspect all the connections torque management feedback signal "a", range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
