Accumulated in electronic control units so shift up/down wire, open / short to ground mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor intake air heater "a", system performance and idle speed control throttle position 2, electrical malfunction will delay your vw fault. |
01697 Possible Causes:
01697 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 01697 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor negative current control bank 1 sensor 1, circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
