This code were stamped on VW Engine case valve for exhaust cooling agent (n313), interruption / short-circuit after mass to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so glow plug indictor light (k29), malfunction message from instrument cluster and wait then shift lock, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |

01687 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01687 Code
- Inspect all the connections coolant circulation pump relay (j151), open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
