This something to do with the intake camshaft timing ignition coil 'i' primary control, circuit low causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system rough road / engine torque signal from abs; electrical malfunction you can see the linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / common ground wire, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |

01683 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01683 Code
- Inspect all the connections fuel cap sensor / switch, circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
