01642 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing relays for large amount of heat (j360), disconnected or short to ground retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor correction behind catalyst, rich control limit exceeded . On the other hand drive by wire-mil (k132), circuit open is the final reason of the code. |
01642 Possible Causes:
01642 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 01642 Code
- Inspect all the connections auxiliary engine coolant (ec) pump relay (j496), open or short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
