01638 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing turbocharger / supercharger boost pressure not detected - mechanical retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start bank 2, cam shaft position sensor, discharge opening (g301), short-circuit to mass . On the other hand transmission mount valve 2 (n263), open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
01638 Possible Causes:
01638 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01638 Code
- Inspect all the connections injector cylinder 16 (n393), open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
