This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle actuator control system, forced idle the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'a', circuit range / performance . So for next exhaust gas temperature control circuit bank 3, out of range is the final reason of the code. |
01540 Possible Causes:
01540 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault

- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01540 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / common ground wire, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
