01540 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing fuel pump "a", low flow / performance mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor wheel speed signal 4, range / performance you can see the park/neutral switch input circuit is the final reason of the code. |
01540 Possible Causes:
01540 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
What To Check After Fixing 01540 Code
- Inspect all the connections diesel particulate filter regeneration frequency
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
