Staring in engine ignition coil 'a' primary control, short to plus to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so mil request signal active (check for tcm errors too!) . On the other hand ignition coil 'j' primary control, short to plus will delay your vw fault. |
01496 Possible Causes:
01496 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 01496 Code
- Inspect all the connections outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
