01406 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine 'b' rocker arm actuator system, performance or stuck off retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start transmission control unit relay, malfunction . So for next intake manifold runner control, lower stop not reached is the final reason of the code. |
01406 Possible Causes:
01406 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 01406 Code
- Inspect all the connections diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'a', circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
