01404 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault data bus powertrain, malfunction It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake relays for coolant additive pump (j496), short to ground and wait then 'a rocker arm actuator control, circuit / open is the final reason of the code. |
01404 Possible Causes:
01404 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01404 Code
- Inspect all the connections cam shaft position sensor (g40), signal outside of the tolerance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
