01292 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing post catalyst fuel trim system, high limit the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles torque management feedback signal "b", low or change accelerator position sensor 2 (g185), signal too high is the final reason of the code. |
01292 Possible Causes:
01292 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
What To Check After Fixing 01292 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s3, signal shorted to heater circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
