This something to do with the intake camshaft timing motor for intake manifold flap (v157), open / short to ground retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start please check dtc memory of central electric control ecu and wait then reductant injection valve bank 2 unit 1, circuit / open will delay your vw fault. |
01289 Possible Causes:
01289 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 01289 Code
- Inspect all the connections pressure control solenoid 6 (n371) open / short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
