01261 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine exhaust bank 3, probe 1 signal too slowly retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start rough road / engine torque signal from abs; electrical malfunction . So for next engine torque reduction, open / short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
01261 Possible Causes:
01261 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01261 Code
- Inspect all the connections vehicle speed signal, circuit short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
