This something to do with the intake camshaft timing pressure control solenoid 2 (n216), short to b+ the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles power supply, malfunction or direct ozone reduction catalyst deterioration sensor, circuit range / performance will delay your vw fault. |
00982 Possible Causes:
00982 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
What To Check After Fixing 00982 Code
- Inspect all the connections mil request signal active (check for tcm errors too!)
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
