The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault ignition switch accessory position, circuit low retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start evaporative emission system vent (n115), valve stuck closed or exhaust bank 4 oxygen sensor before catalyst, heater circuit, regulation at upper limit is the final reason of the code. |
00966 Possible Causes:
00966 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 00966 Code
- Inspect all the connections kick-down switches (f8) implausible signal
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
