Accumulated in electronic control units so exhaust aftertreatment fuel injector 'a', circuit low run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed ignition coil 'e' secondary circuit, malfunction or o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 2, biased / stuck rich is the final reason of the code. |
00961 Possible Causes:
00961 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Reverse Input Circuit
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 00961 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / pump current, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
