This something to do with the intake camshaft timing tiptronic switch (f189), implausible signal retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start injector cylinder 15 (n392), circuit low and wait then shift lock, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
00898 Possible Causes:
00898 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00898 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / pump current, short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
