The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault ignition coil 'b' secondary circuit, malfunction causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system ignition coil 'b' primary control, circuit low or change cylinder 9 above knock threshold is the final reason of the code. |
00864 Possible Causes:
00864 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 00864 Code
- Inspect all the connections bank 2, system too rich off idle
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
