00840 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust pressure regulator vent solenoid, control circuit / open causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system o2 sensor out of range during deceleration bank 1 sensor 1 and idle speed control throttle position 2, electrical malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
00840 Possible Causes:
00840 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00840 Code
- Inspect all the connections fuel injection valve 2 (n367), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
