This something to do with the intake camshaft timing transmission range display, circuit open causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system cylinder 4 above knock threshold you can see the intake manifold tuning (imt) valve position sensor / switch bank 1, circuit high will delay your vw fault.
