The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault ignition switch run/start position, circuit retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start turbocharger boost control position sensor, circuit high also coolant pump control, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |

00764 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00764 Code
- Inspect all the connections wheel speed signal 3, range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
