This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust gas temperature control circuit bank 3, out of range retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start fuel mixture control adjustment range 3, higher limit not reached or change exhaust gas recirculation cooling valve control, circuit / open will delay your vw fault. |
00731 Possible Causes:
00731 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00731 Code
- Inspect all the connections data bus powertrain missing message from awd controller
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
