This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit intermittent run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed intake manifold tuning (imt) valve position sensor / switch bank 1, circuit and wait then malfunction indication light (k83), short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
00689 Possible Causes:
00689 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 00689 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4 sensor 1, voltage too low or air leak
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
