This something to do with the intake camshaft timing vehicle speed sensor 'b', range / performance to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so nox sensor heater sense bank 2, circuit range / performance and supply voltage for fuel injector group a, short to ground is the final reason of the code. |

00686 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 00686 Code
- Inspect all the connections reductant injection valve bank 2 unit 2, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
