Accumulated in electronic control units so throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'e' / 'f', voltage correlation mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor ignition coil 'l' primary control, short to plus or change signal for back-up lights, short to ground is the final reason of the code. |

00642 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00642 Code
- Inspect all the connections evaporative emission system leak detection pump control, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
