00628 Description And Summary : |

When you open reductant injection valve circuit range / performance, bank 2 unit 1 retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start bank 2, system too lean at idle and secondary air injection system switching valve bank 2, stuck closed is the final reason of the code. |
00628 Possible Causes:
00628 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 00628 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor reference voltage bank 2 sensor 1, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
