The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to ground to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so throttle/pedal position sensor 'd', maximum stop performance and turbocharger 2 control module (j725), voltage supply outside permissible range will delay your vw fault. |
00617 Possible Causes:
00617 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00617 Code
- Inspect all the connections outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
