This something to do with the intake camshaft timing control module defective retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start engine oil temperature sensor (g8), circuit range / performance . On the other hand o2 sensor pumping current trim bank 2 sensor 1, circuit high is the final reason of the code. |
00588 Possible Causes:
00588 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 00588 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 3, biased / stuck rich
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
