The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'a', circuit low It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake bank 1, cam shaft position sensor, discharge opening (g300), interruption / short-circuit to b+ also turbocharger control module 1, missing message will delay your vw fault. |

00538 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent

What To Check After Fixing 00538 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection pump-d-relay (j705), circuit short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
