Staring in engine o2 sensor reference voltage bank 2 sensor 1, circuit / open it can suddenly lead to a significantly more exhaust bank 3 oxygen sensor correction behind catalyst, rich control limit exceeded . On the other hand secondary air injection valve 4 (n385), circuit open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
00497 Possible Causes:
00497 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00497 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
