This code were stamped on VW Engine case o2 sensor reference voltage bank 1 sensor 1, circuit high causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system drive by wire-mil (k132), circuit electrical malfunction also control of valves pump / nozzle, mechanical errors is the final reason of the code. |

00497 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 00497 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
