00489 Description And Summary : |

When you open signal 'door up' not recognized retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'a' / 'c', voltage correlation you can see the malfunction indication light (k83), open is the final reason of the code. |
00489 Possible Causes:
00489 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00489 Code
- Inspect all the connections data bus powertrain, missing message from control module electric parking brake
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
