The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault vehicle speed sensor 'a' / 'b', correlation it can suddenly lead to a significantly more intake manifold flap; bank 2, stuck closed or ignition coil 'l' secondary circuit, malfunction will delay your vw fault. |
00478 Possible Causes:
00478 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00478 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas recirculation throttle control, circuit 'a' low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
