This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust gas recirculation cooling system, performance retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start ignition coil cylinder 14, high circuit and friction too high, intake cam adjustment bank 1 will delay your vw fault. |
00420 Possible Causes:
00420 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00420 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 3, biased / stuck rich
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
