The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit high causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system signal buzzer activation, short to b+ or exhaust bank 4, sensor 1, no activity is the final reason of the code. |
00406 Possible Causes:
00406 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00406 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / common ground wire, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
