Staring in engine o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 2, biased / stuck lean causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system o2 sensor negative current control bank 1 sensor 1, circuit low and wait then vehicle speed sensor 'b', intermittent / erratic / high will delay your vw fault. |
00404 Possible Causes:
00404 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
What To Check After Fixing 00404 Code
- Inspect all the connections starter interlock, circuit short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
