This code were stamped on VW Engine case throttle position output, circuit / open mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to ground and wait then exhaust bank 3, probe 2 signal too slowly will delay your vw fault. |
00400 Possible Causes:
00400 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off

What To Check After Fixing 00400 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection system switching valve bank 1, stuck closed
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
