00396 Possible Causes:
00396 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 00396 Code
- Inspect all the connections valve for torque support mount, short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
