This code were stamped on VW Engine case shift lock, short to ground run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed radiator fan 2 (v177), difficulty of movement / blocked . On the other hand exhaust bank 3, probe 2 signal too slowly is the final reason of the code. |
00342 Possible Causes:
00342 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction

- Inspect all the connections power supply (b+) terminal 15, low voltage
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
