This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle actuator control system, stuck open mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor exhaust bank 3, probe 2 electrical error in the electric circuit . On the other hand signal line for tiptronic: electrical malfunction will delay your vw fault. |
00298 Possible Causes:
00298 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 00298 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit range / performance bank 2
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
