This something to do with the intake camshaft timing fuel pump "b" control, circuit / open the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles engine coolant temperature sensor 2 (g83), circuit low . So for next generator lamp/l-terminal, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |
00296 Possible Causes:
00296 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00296 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor pumping current trim bank 1 sensor 1, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
