Staring in engine turbocharger boost control position sensor 'b', circuit intermittent / erratic it can suddenly lead to a significantly more oxygen (lambda) sensor b2 s1, pump current, short to b+ . On the other hand exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit low is the final reason of the code. |
00278 Possible Causes:
00278 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00278 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection system switching valve bank 2, stuck closed
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
