This code were stamped on VW Engine case turbocharger 2 control module (j725), voltage supply outside permissible range run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 2 sensor 2, circuit low you can see the hydraulic pressure sensor 2, too high will delay your vw fault. |

00257 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00257 Code
- Inspect all the connections engine coolant temperature signal, open / short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
