00236 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault ignition coil 'l' primary control, short to plus mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor ignition coil 'k' primary control, short to plus or change direct ozone reduction catalyst temperature sensor, circuit intermittent / erratic will delay your vw fault.

00236 Possible Causes:

00236 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
  • Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
  • Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
  • Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 00236 Code

  • Inspect all the connections glow plug/heater relay circuit, electrical
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
