00231 Possible Causes:
00231 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00231 Code
- Inspect all the connections please check dtc memory of steering angle sensor
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
