This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake manifold runner control, lower stop not reached mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor throttle actuator control system, high air flow detected also exhaust bank 3 sensor 1 oxygen sensor signal, implausibly lean will delay your vw fault. |
00228 Possible Causes:
00228 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00228 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
