00228 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine camshaft adjustment oil temperature sensor (g277), open or short to ground mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor power supply (b+) terminal 15, low voltage or malfunction indication light (k83), short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
00228 Possible Causes:
00228 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00228 Code
- Inspect all the connections kick down switch, error message from engine contr.
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
