This something to do with the intake camshaft timing angle sensors 1 for butterfly valve drive 2 (g297), signal too small retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start exhaust pressure regulator vent solenoid, control circuit high also throttle actuator control module, performance will delay your vw fault. |
00224 Possible Causes:
00224 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 00224 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor reference voltage bank 1 sensor 1, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
