This code were stamped on VW Engine case ignition coil cylinder 16, low circuit retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start intake air heater "a", circuit low and linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / reference voltage, open circuit will delay your vw fault. |
00196 Possible Causes:
00196 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 00196 Code
- Inspect all the connections givers 2 for intake air temperature (g299), signal too small
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
