Accumulated in electronic control units so exhaust bank 3 oxygen sensor correction behind catalyst, rich control limit exceeded It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake a/c request a, circuit high you can see the fuel cap sensor / switch, circuit low will delay your vw fault. |
00172 Possible Causes:
00172 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00172 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
