00116 Description And Summary : |

When you open cylinder 3 above knock threshold causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system control module 1 for cooling fan, short circuit also secondary air injection system control 'b', circuit low is the final reason of the code. |
00116 Possible Causes:
00116 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 00116 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'a' / 'c', voltage correlation
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
